Girls Weekend

As of last night plans are going full scale for our girls weekend away, with Aunts and cousins. My Aunt has lived in Chicago for years now and Rachel and I have never been. Last year she asked us if we were ever going to come and see her. So we tried to come last Labor day, but my Aunt was in Europe with her underwater hockey team. Oh yeah I typed it right she plays underwater hockey. Anyways so we were not able to go but she told us she would be around this year. So when we asked her about it again, she told us our Aunt and two cousins were planning on coming then so we should too and make it a girls weekend. She called last night to work out getting our plane tickets, as our Aunt and cousins already have thiers. There was a request to go see the Cubs play too. Looks like I will attend my very first REAL baseball game, Major League style. I am sorry the Travelors just don't count. So now I have to look up places to go and see while we are there so we can come up with some sort of plan. I can't wait. Another place I have wanted to go to crossed off the list.

Holidays

This holiday weekend Rachel and I went to the lake. I know you are probably shocked that we went to the lake and there are no pictures to show. In time there will be pictures. I am still like a new mom with my digital camera. I was very hesitant to take it to the lake, and since I have had a 5 roll package of film wasting away in the fridge I decided to play it safe and bring my old trusty Vivitar film SLR.

Oh how I have forgotten how much I love my trusty old camera. It never fails me. I had fun playing around and being creative with it. I can't wait to turn in my film tonight and get the photos back soon.

We had a fun and relaxing day, just me and my sister. Although I did a LOT more floating than swimming, the lake completely exhausts me. I fell asleep on the way home, to be honest I fell asleep on the way up there too. Isn't it great to have a sister who loves to drive. We lounged around much of the day and grilled some burgers, then we lounged around some more and then decided to go home.

Memorial day we pretty much laid around all day. I did get some sewing done. I have begun the bridesmaid dresses. My Rachel's lining is almost finished and I have part of the outside done. Other than that we watched the first and second Pirates. Rachel wanted too since we went to see the third on Friday. I loved it.

Greek Food

This past weekend we went to the annual Greek Food Festival at the Greek Orthodox church. We always enjoy the food and the dancing. Gyros have always been the choice food but next year I will branch out and have the Greek lamb platter, it looked overly appealing. Here are pictures of all the dancers we saw.

This child was 5 years old and danced all by herself. She did awesome too. She has more moves than I may ever possess.

And the last dancers we saw were the Irish dancers. I must say these girls curls have a life-force of their own.
