Doing the Things I Love

About a month ago a friend of mine told me that there was a lady in our church who sews as a home business, she had told me that she had mentioned she could really use help. Since I love to sew I was really thinking about. This weekend I was reminded when I saw her. So I went up and asked her about it. She told me she could have really used me last week and would love to have me help her. She told me about it and then asked if I wanted to have my own business. I told her probably if, Lord willing, I was to get married and have children. She really wants to eventually hand it all over to me, at least that is what I got from her.

So now I am an official seamstress on the side. How fun is that. I will mostly be making home decor i.e. pillows, drapes, etc. But she offered to teach me how to re-upholster furniture and use a serger and any other thing I don't know how to do. I am really excited. I have been only sewing clothes, which are much harder to do, much more detail to them so I should be able to learn quickly. I wish I could make enough to just do that and go to school, that would be nice and then when I graduate do that on the side. And maybe that can happen. Who knows what God has in store for me, but this would be more of a dream for me. I like my job but this is not a passion of mine. Is typing and editing and formatting really anyone's passion? In a few years this may be me. I may just go crazy and start weaving my own fabric. Yeah right like I would have the patience for that. I think not.
