How God Gave Me A Hug

Sunday after church Rachel and I got a sad call from mom. She asked the fated question "Where are you?" This question leads to the announcement of someone's death. Mom then followed up to tell me that Grandma Green had passed away that morning. I choked up as I tried to relay the message to Rachel. This was mom's mom, now her mental health has always been very bad but her physical health showed no real signs of nearing death. Mom said she always thought she had another good 10 years with her mother. I was so shocked I can't remember if mom said she had a stroke or seizure and then was gone.

Yesterday morning when I got to work, I felt God wrap His loving arms around me and squeeze tight. I had briefly thought about my work and that they might send me flowers, they normally do that when family dies. When I got to work and opened my door the distinct smell of lilies hit me. Upon switching on the light I found a HUGE arrangement sitting on my desk. I was shocked and wondering how they could know when I just found out the day before. Then I realized they had a meeting this weekend and they must be from that. Lilies are my FAVORITE! When my faculty came in they told me they did not know what to do with the flowers and they thought I would appreciate them so they brought them over for me.
In His awesome providence God knew that I needed to feel His loving arms around me and He did it by way of flowers. Our God is a God of comfort. He holds me in His righteous right hand.
Please excuse the quality of the pictures I was using my faculty's point and click camera and it does not like to focus obviously.
