Past Due Update

So it has been about a month since I have updated this. I know I am bad. I am officially off orientation and have joined the neuro team so I work on spines and brains. Soon I will start my neuro orientation so that I can take call for aneurysms. That will also give me an increase in pay for being on a specialty team. I LOVE it! I am so glad to be scrubbing on my own it is nice to set things up the way I prefer. I also switched to working 2 twelve hour shifts a week. So now I work Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 7am-7pm. It is not that easy on Monday night when I get home at 7:30 and have to get in bed in 2 and a half hours just to get up and do it all over again, but it is great when I get home Tuesday night and then have two days off.
I went to the eye doctor two weeks ago to hopefully get some contacts so that I can read the tiny instruments and such without contaminating them. She found that I am actually farsighted but my eyes focus like I am nearsighted. So the more I try to focus them the harder it is for me to focus. Also I have an astigmatism in both eyes. So she gave me like .75 prescription contacts and they really help. I can read a LOT better.
Jake and I are enjoying getting to know each other more and more every day. We were able to go to his parents last Wednesday and stay for Thanksgiving. We arrived around three and went out for a ride on his motorcycle to the lake, then we came home and had dinner with all of his family. After dinner I played cards with his sister and sister-in-law and he watched some of Wall-E with the men and two boys. We went to bed early, everyone was pretty tired. Thanksgiving day we woke at about seven and eventually had a big breakfast with his parents and Brady (the eldest of his two nephews). Then we went out fishing with his dad at Greers, I do not have a fishing license so I watched and relaxed in the boat. Jake caught a Kentucky bass I think it was. Then after a few hours his dad drove us out to Sugarloaf and we hiked up it while his dad fished some more. Let me tell you that boat can go up to like 80 miles an hours and his dad was pushing from 60-75, that was a lot of wind-force on my face and body. My eyes were watering and I was afraid I might lose a contact so I kept my eyes closed most of that time. When we came back we showered off and waited for the family to come over to enjoy some the traditional Thanksgiving eats. As always I made a pumpkin and a cherry pie. I had a blast visiting with his family. His mom eventually pulled out old pictures and I enjoyed seeing all his pictures. His sister went into the room with him and told him that I had now seen all his childhood pictures and was going to dump him. So when I came in there he said so you are breaking up with me now. I just had to laugh. It is so funny both he and his brother acted like it killed them to smile in photos. At about 7 or 8 we had to head back to Little Rock, because Jake was working the next day. I would also be getting up early to partake of Black Friday sales. I got some excellent deals.
Now to the bad news... Last night on the way home from work, I was in a bad car wreck. My car was TOTALED. I escaped with a badly sprained ankle, a bruised toe, knees, thighs and a swollen nose. I was trying to turn left on a yellow light and was sure I could make it but this lady must have been speeding to try to make the light and we hit each other on the drivers side corner and her car was dented pretty good on the corner and side but my car was just demolished. Both my air bags deployed so that is where my nose injury came from. But God really protected me. From the looks of my car I should be badly injured. I remember turning and then knowing I was going to hit her and the next thing I remember was that I was turned almost all the way around and I was hitting the curb on the right side of the road. I did get a ticket for failing to yield but I am sure that she was speeding because I was only going about 15-20 at the most since I was turning and my whole front end was smashed down to like 3 feet and when we spun around she ended up being in front of me. I called my sister since she was just up the road and left a message and then called Jake who ran out to come to me. Then I called Julie and she told my sister I was in a wreck right down the road so she came to me. I knew my foot might be broken so Jake took me to UAMS to have me checked out. He is so sweet to me. After about 3 hours of being at the ER with me my sister text to see if she needed to come up and be with me so he could go home and get sleep because he had clinicals in the morning. He said he probably should but he did not want to leave me. I told him he needed to so Rachel came up and sat with me for the next hour. The other lady left in an ambulance, I was not willing to pay the $500 just to ride in an ambulance when I knew someone could take me. The police officer said her plates were expired and he is not sure that she has insurance. I am just trusting God that he will take care of all the details and greatly praising Him that I was not badly hurt or even killed. I am just dealing with this one step at a time. Step one was medical care, two was calling work (the doctor wants me to rest until Monday), this morning I called my insurance to file a claim, then this weekend I guess I will deal with getting a new car. My Camry was paid for by my parents but I still owe them money for it and I only had liability and comprehensive so if the fault is mine they will not pay me the value of my car. On the bright side I have no debt other than owing my parents for the car and I do have a full-time job so it won't kill me to have to buy a car and pay my parents back. I really liked my car though. But I know that God's ways are higher than my ways and He knows and has orchestrated what has and what will happen. So for now I rest and hobble around on my crutches and avoid anything touching my bumps and bruises. Sometime we will go take pictures of the damage to my car if we need it for evidence. I will post them after we do.
And now for picture update...
Jett loves the kitty cat.
And for the most part is good about being gentle with her.
I did not take a lot of pictures on Thanksgiving however. I do have a few more on my phone that I will post later. Here is Natalie (Jake's sister) and her youngest son Rhett.

Jake needed a nap after dinner.
Jake's dad and Rhett, it is hard to get him to smile too, I know where Jake got it from.
Rhett and his grandma
I do love Brady just as much as I love Rhett but Brady slept for like 4 hours after they came.
Since I will only get to go home the 17th-21st of December Rachel and I decided to get a real Christmas tree. Oh it smells so good. I love it. After I shopped and we both got ready we went out and found the perfect tree and then decorated the house for Christmas.
Our annual post Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving dinner. And my makeshift apron.
Hailey, Cala and Jake all came over to dine.

Jett knows how to color now.

Jake left after dinner to play poker with some guy friends so we had a girls night watching Kung Fu Panda and PS I Love You. And we made a fire.

Sunday Jake came to our church again and we played a little on the rocking horse after church.
