Some of you may say it is about time that I had a CT of my sinuses. Well are you happy now?!?! I will be going in at 8:30 am to St Vincent's to have a sinus CT. I felt generally miserable on Monday and decided to go home. I took a nap and did not feel much better as the night went on. I decided that if I did not feel better at bedtime I would stay home the next day and go to the doctor. I was wanting to go back to the allergist to get a CT scan, since he was the one who brought it up. But since there are tons of people with allergies in AR it takes a few weeks to actually see him. I decided to talk to good ole Dr H. about a CT scan, since he has all the paperwork from my allergist. Sure enough I had a full blown sinus infection. Since I am not sure that the last bout of antibiotics really did much he gave me some strong antibiotics. I am talking horse pills. Then we talked about a sinus CT. Since I have had pain and pressure in my sinuses almost every day for the past 5 months, possibly longer, he decided that was probably the best idea. I could have mucus wads, or clogging in there causing the pain and pressure. I was a little nervous about the CT scan since I am afraid of small spaces. But they assured me for the sinus CT I would not be put in the tube. But rather this...

I can handle that, it's like getting the full mouth X-rays at the dentist. But it takes 30 minutes, if they want me still for 30 minutes they better tie my down. That is no easy thing for a wiggler like me.
I now understand clearly how much my parents sacrificed for me, especially when it came to my health bills. I pray they do find something, if not I will be slightly disappointed, especially because of the cost. OUCH! I am blessed to have great health insurance, too bad they don't cover this 100%. I will trust in God to provide for this. But for a moment after she told me the cost I did freak out for a few minutes. Thank you mom and dad, I never truly knew nor did I appreciate how much you did for us.

You really should wear a longer skirt that the girl in that picture:) Especially if you have to sit still for 30 minutes! Hope it all goes well.

yikes!! another typo! i need preview on this thing! one more try- than...the...girl...in...that...picture.
Have you tried any osteopathic manipulation for your sinus problems? Most normal doctors don't believe they are very effective, but the "natural" ones will swear by it. I have been doing it on Jane to help relieve pressure in her head to get rid of her ear infections, and it has actually been effective. The fluid in her ears has gone down and she has been clear of ear infections for over a week now (after having chronic infections and on 5 consecutive antibiotics).
After I first started doing the massages on her head, she kind of coughed funny and when I looked in her mouth she had a mouthful of mucous. I think the massages worked it out of her sinuses.
It is worth a try. It might at least relieve some pressure in your head to make you feel better.
Do you have a VHS player? I have a video that shows how to do it.
