So now after 10 weeks of being a member of Weight Watchers. I have lost a total of 10 1/2 pounds. After a few weeks of going up and down I lost a total of 4 pounds last week. I would love to keep going at this rate, at least a pound a week. I feel so good and things are fitting wonderfully. I even attempted to try on a dress I wore in 10th grade and I zipped it about 3/4 of the way up. That is really impressive. I was pretty small back then. So I am getting close to wearing my 8's again. My taste for greasy food has almost completely diminished. My body can't even really handle the grease anymore. I have always been almost quite fearful of joining Weight Watchers, because it is not a diet but rather a lifestyle change. Life is a long time. In order to get the weight off and keep it off you have to stick with healthier choices. An important factor for me was that I was becoming a slave to food. If it was there I would eat it, and I would keep on eating it until I felt like I was about to blow. The awesome thing is that you can still eat anything but you have to make sure you are eating just a portion and that you count your points and don't go over. If there is a big event coming up or you want to go out to eat there are 35 points you get each week to have whenever you want. I tend to save them up for the weekends, that is when we go out or have other occasions that call for higher food points.
Last night was exciting and hilarious to say the least. As we pulled in from Bible study there was a truck we did not recognize and a cat was laying on top of it. Rachel told me not to scare it off, but just getting out of the car made him get up. He was so pretty and Rachel was meowing at him, so he came over. He rubbed up against my leg and Rachel actually reached down to pet him. BIG MISTAKE. He turned and sprayed her. She freaked out and started yelling it out, and I burst into fits of laughter. She opened the door and I went in to get a paper towel for her. I walk in and turn on the lamp. Then I see like a huge cricket looking thing in my path. I sort of glide past it. On the way back I notice it is a MONSTEROUS SPIDER. Little spiders I can handle this sucker was about the size of my palm including legs. So I really leaped over it to get back to Rachel. Mid-leap Rachel screamed out that the spider jumped too. Horror washed over my face as I landed and dashed toward Rachel. Ahh tingles are running up my spine just typing about it. She cleans off her leg and I frantically look around to make sure there is not another one of those hiding around. I told her it was up to her to kill it. There was no way I was getting near that thing AGAIN. So she grabbed the fly swatter and headed towards it. I went half-way upstairs because the last time we dealt with a large critter with the fly swatter it kept flying back up at me, that time it was a cockroach. This thing was jumping on its own so there was no way I would want to give it a little extra air. Rachel proceeded to kill and flush it. Then she could not stop laughing at me and the look that I had on my face when it jumped at me. We both got our fair share of nature last night.
