California

I am so glad to finally be in California. My flight was uneventful which was a huge answer to prayer. On the flight from LR I was blessed to have the seat next to me open, especially since it was one of those tiny planes that are three seats wide. I am having technical difficulties with my pictures and can't delete them to fix them so you may have to turn your head. The first flight I was in the window once again in the very back. And here is my engine view.
This is overlooking the West of Little Rock.
I would have loved to take pictures over California but I did not think it would have been appropriate for me to lean over the husky Slavic man sitting next to me to take some pictures. It was beautiful though. I pray I get a window seat on the way out.
Here's what you have all been waiting for. And the one I have been dying to meet. Sorry the first few pictures I forgot I still had in sports mode. At the airport waiting for my luggage, I go to hold the little bug and she smiled and talked to me.

Had to document the traffic. You just don't see this in Arkansas.

Evie was not excited to be in the car.
But after I rubbed her head a little she passed out. HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THIS BABY!!!!!!

She is so alert

It's Sprummer! 200 Posts

In Arkansas now is the time when you can't decide if it is spring or summer. As today's temperature will be around 81 degrees. That doesn't seem like spring weather more like early summer. I guess not if it is Arkansas. I mean really spring officially started two days ago but really started like mid February. I do love this time of year. While I am a HUGE fan of snow, it rarely comes here. And cold weather without snow is like a kick in the pants. I don't enjoy the blah colors the cold weather brings either. I love color. I get giddy when I start seeing the yellow, red, purple, pink, white, blue buds starting to form. My favorite would probably have to be the tulip tree but it may be tied with Wisteria. I love the grapelike clusters of lavendar that drops down from trees. It is like a breath of fresh air. I have yet to really search out some wisteria, but I know a great place if it is fully out yet. I am sad that I am pretty sure I have waited to long to capture the tulip trees. It seems all the ones I find have lost their blossoms already and the leaves are beginning to form. It is amazing how they go from bright pink and purple to white and then fall off. Ahh God's Creation in one word PERFECT! How can you not believe in God and created order when winter always follows the splender of the fall, then spring brings everything back to life and summer warms it all up again then fall cools it down and shuts off chlorophyll making beautiful autumn shades. If things just exploded into being one day then why has there been perfect order in the seasons every year for over 3,000 years? How could evolution exist when the world proves that instead of things coming to order and perfection we live and die and the world is moving towards chaos? Why is it the further we turn from God the harder things get for us? All that to say here are some pictures I am blessed to be able to capture of God's creation. These trees crowd around a few benches on Kavanaugh, where I used to walk with Hanna every day when she was an infant.
Closeup of the flowers
I parked under these trees and the petals fell in through my moon roof, it was kind of romantic. So I am a hopeless romantic, I know.
Kind of looks like snow all on the ground.

I love these dark barked trees with such bright flowers the contrast is amazing.
It was a horrible time to take pictures though.

These flowers looked like they were growing like lichen.
This tree is almost pure white when you first look at it. You don't even notice the trunk.

Closeups

The young dogwoods. Hopefully when I come back they will be in full bloom.

I love this electric yellow with the fushia behind it.

This post is also a celebration I have now Posted 200 times.
Here are pictures from our hike up Pinnacle a few weekends ago.

Relaxation

This weekend is going to be a busy one. But I am glad, although it will more than likely fly by quicker. Tonight I am being treated. Some dear friends of mine asked us a few weekends ago to come with them to eat sushi and want Premonition. I had to turn them down due to my extremely strict budget, so I can pay off this CT scan. They then offered to treat me. I was elated, I LOVE sushi and it has been a WHILE since I have had some. I also had been wanting to see Premonition. I was very grateful for them. So that is what we will be up to tonight.
Tomorrow I hope and plan on dragging my sister and Hailey out of their soft, warm, cozy and inviting beds to go to Wye mountain to take some pictures. It is that time of year again. We need to go early so every one and their Grandmother are not in my beautiful pictures. Then I am being paid to serve cake at a wedding early that afternoon. Then at about 8 I will go downtown to pick up Hanna and Armon from a party they will be attending with their parents, take them home, calm them down and put them to bed. THIS MIGHT BE FUN!
Sunday morning we have church then we are probably meeting with our little Bible study for lunch and studying Mary. Then I need a small nap and to go to choir practice. To then come home and study for my test on Monday or is the test Tuesday, either way I have to study some more. Wow I am exhausted just typing that all.

8 MORE DAYS UNTIL I HEAD TO CALIFORNIA TO SEE TAMI, HONG and JULIANNE! Totally excited can you tell.

More Answers

God answers prayer in His own time and His own way. I was called by my boss on Friday afternoon with a huge unseen answer. She called to tell me I had been promoted and gotten a raise with the promotion. She asked if I had been waiting to hear and I told her I did not even see it coming. I remember one of the Associate Deans asking for my resume so they could update my position but did not say anything about promoting me. It made me wonder but I dismissed it, not wanting to get my hopes up. But sure enough about a month later she calls me with the awesome news. The raise is SIGNIFICANT too. About $3000 more a year. Now I will know a little freedom with my budget. And the ability to truly save. Especially since I will have to leave this job in December. There is just no way I can make 40 hours here and handle my class and clinical hours. I would be working until about 10 some nights. I will get some sort of job for that last semester but I am not concerning myself with that until I get closer to that time.

She's Having a...

Yesterday was Hailey's second Dr's appointment and she was totally excited because she was going to find out the sex of her baby. Her baby did not want to show itself and stayed curled up most of the ultrasound but the Dr worked around that and found out that she is going to have a Boy! She said she busted out laughing when he said that. She had been wanting a girl mostly to be able to dress her up and stuff, but she is just as happy with a boy. Last night she finally gave up on pre-pregnancy jeans, they were beginning to cut into her. So we went to Motherhood Maternity to find some maternity jeans. This took a while, but I guess all clothes shopping does with Hailey. I brought my camera with me, especially because in the dressing room they have a maternity pillow you velcro around your waist so you can see what you will look like pregnant. Rachel and I both tried it on but it is kind of misshapen so it looked funny. We were busting up laughing. I got some of Hailey and the clothes she tried on.

General Frustration

Well Steph I would love to tell you that you are correct, but my doctor would disagree. He said the radiologist was right there were just patches that showed some fluid and swelling due to the sinusitis. He said it would take 3-6 weeks for antibiotics to change a CT scan, so it should be completely accurate. As he told me he could do nothing for me I just wanted to break down and cry. He said he recently read in the New England Journal that many people who complain of sinus headaches are really suffering from migraines. Now I have had a migraine before, I get sick to my stomach and can't see well and have to just lay down and try to sleep. I told him it did not make sense because it starts out with pressure and pain in my sinuses and then I get a headache from it. He said he could do surgery but he does not think it will help at all. That day I did not have a headache and haven't had once since, until now. I can feel the pain and pressure that always leads to a headache. The pain is like when you get water up your nose. He gave me a prescription and some samples of Singulair, which is about the last allergy pill left for me to try. And the second day on it I was sneezing and my nose was running. He recommended that I go to a neurologist, but that is exactly what I did not want to happen. For things to be vague and recommend I go see someone else and then possibly have more tests done, etc. As someone suggested at Bible study this may be the thorn that I bear. I just don't like it much, at least it is not gastric pain, of all the pains, that is the one I just don't bear very well at all.
