Scenery

This is some of Cape Elizabeth's coast. This is actually in someone's backyard. We were on their driveway taking these pictures.
This is one of the Two Lights of Cape Elizabeth.
This is the other of Two Lights.
This is the Portland headlight. Interesting fact Portland, Oregan was named after Portland, Maine. It seems the name was settled over a poker game. One man was from Boston and if he won it would be Boston but the man from Portland won and so we have Portland Oregan.
Rachel daydreaming at Portland Head.
Me and mom at Portland Head and you can see Whaleback light behind us.
This is up the road from Portland Headlight. We thought it was part of the fort but it seems this used to be Goddard Mansion.
This is the famous wedding cake house in Kennebunk. It started out at a Federalist style home and then some man moved in and added all of the gothic lattices etc so now it looks like a wedding cake. But people live in it so you can't go inside.
Here is the sunset at Nubble. We waited until it got dark enought to take pictures of the Christmas lights on the lighthouse.

Injury

This was the last picture I took of the snow. I was trying to show how much we got. I love how it glistens.
This was taken about an hour before the snow stopped.
Here is the pretty farm house covered with snow.
Here is the injury part. My story goes...
Rachel and I decided to go out to the back of the farm to take some pictures and video footage. We walked on the dirt road that is marked by deep tractor tire tracks. I knew there were puddles there and we proceeded with caution. Rachel had just shot some footage of me and providentially I had my new EXPENSIVE digital camera in a Ziploc bag because it was still snowing. Within seconds of her stopping recording I stepped on some ice and my feet went up in the air and my butt went through the ice. It was freezing cold so I did not feel any pain. I was just freaking out that I was wet and it was a muddy manure mixture. I stepped down and the puddle was so deep it started coming over my boots that came up to my knees about. I freaked out the entire way up to the house. My hair had gotten wet from the splash I made and I was wet from above the belly button down. When I toweled off from sanitizing myself in the shower I felt a knot on my leg just above my knee and knew that was going to be a pretty black color. But here let me show you the damage. The only dry part of my lower body was my right knee.

This is where my butt went through. Dad had already driven the tractor through it so you can’t exactly tell. I circled the approximate area.
This is all the damage done by it. That one long bruise wraps around my leg. I am glad for the freezing water because that would have HURT! Rachel was upset her camera was not on because that would have been perfect to sent to America’s Funniest Home Videos. She saw it all but did not have time to turn the camera on. She did turn it on to catch me getting out and retrieving my Diet Mountain Dew bottle. The other leg is fine so I must have taken the weight on this leg.
Can you say ouch!

Maine Maine and More Maine

This would be my Aunt Patty and her everlasting forehead. She joked that she looked like a cancer patient with my patriots cap on.
Our darling Kim being aggressive with her eldest Ella. Ella was giggling, actually we all were when Kim put on the felt helmet and acted out.
Rachel with Ella and Anna. Ella is holding the doll mom bought her for Christmas, the dress she is wearing mom made to match a dress she made for Ella.
Here is me and little Anna-cabana. She had been playing with shiny wrapping paper for a good hour then when I held her she calmed down and fell asleep.
Dad taking his afternoon nap after lunch and before returning to farm work. Of course he naps with as many cats as will stay on him.
Dad was trying to loosen something on the equipment so he chained it to the bucket on the tractor and was driving it forward to try to loosen it.
Rachel was mad at me for posting pictures of Bonsai and Spooks and not posting any of Butterscotch. This is the kitten dad found and saved back in August. Mom said he could revive him and then it would be back to the barn, but then she fell in love with him and he is the third indoor cat there.
When we got there I thought Butterscotch smelled a little funny but I really thought nothing of it. Later we noticed he was licking himself a lot and Rachel eventually looked at him and there was lots of puss etc. So we took him to the vet and he had either got bit by Spooks or had bit himself and then kept licking it so he got a really bad infection. So they gave us antibiotics to give to him and this c-collar to put on so he would not lick it, so it could heal. He looked so sad in it. He would still try to lick himself and would just lick the collar. The day after we left he was healed totally so mom took off the collar and it seems he is the one who bit himself because sure enough he bit himself again and was bleeding. So mom is going to keep the collar on him until he is old enough to get fixed.
He adapted well to the collar and enjoyed chasing this ribbon and even his tail once.

More Patriots

This is Gillette stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Home of the New England Patriots.

Me, Patty, Dorothy and Rachel

This is the pregame practice. I would have loved to catch the start of the game but Rachel decided to run off and by the time we stopped looking for her and went to the bathroom it had already started.

I am not sure what Hog Hannah means but I thought it was cool my name was on this jersey.

These are the Patriots on either side of the field and they fired off every time the Patriots scored.

Here is Rachel's love, Tom Brady, who also became single a few days before the game.

Belichick wearing his famous hoodie.

This is us after the game. These were our seats they were awesome. Rachel returning to normalcy.

We are back

This is my first attempt to post many of my pictures from Maine.
Sadly time flew by while we were gone. We are both sad to come back to Arkansas and leave all of our family behind. We really enjoyed our time up there. This will be the last year that we can communicate with our Grandfather, and much of what he said was jumbled up so badly you could not understand. His brain is just to the point where he can't get his thoughts out in speech much of the time. But you could pretty much guess he wanted food or to go out in the barn.

This is Spooks who used to be the evil cat. Grandma found him in the garden when he was young and he must have been beaten, because a lot of the time even when you are petting him he would scratch you. And if you walked by he would bat at you and draw blood. He is fine now and only batted at me once becuase I almost stepped on him.

Here is Bonsai, she is my cat but she is so old I did not want to keep her and have her die on me. She sleeps by the vents much of the day, her circulation is getting bad.

This is what Grandpa spends most of his time doing. Napping on the couch. Which ends up being one of the safest activities he does these days.

Mouth open and snoring

These are my Grandpas hands they are still very very strong, from working the farm almost his entire life. Now they are also very clean.

Patriots Game

Kicking the field goal right between the uprights.
The Patriots mascot.
Brady and Cassel practice during half-time.
An awesome punt.
Rachel and Dorothy at the game. Dorothy was the buffer for Patty and I from Rachel, she gets a little into the game.
Me and my Aunt Patty enjoying the game.
The Patriots on either side of the field shot off their guns everytime we scored.
This is what I call a die-hard fan. He was totally decked out. Not sure what the sunglasses were for, maybe in a getup such as that you want your identity protected.
Here is Matt Cassel the back-up quarterback for Brady.
