Changing Seasons

Ahh the Fall has arrived officially in Arkansas. For the past few weeks we have tottered back and forth between 90 degree and 60 degree weather. This makes a wonderful habitat for viruses and bacteria to florish and they have taken up that opportunity and multiplied and have found homes in many of my co-workers and myself. They are unstoppable in this weather. As I whine at my desk I have made a few discoveries. The medication that actually tastes good never does any good and they stuff you would not feed to your enemies makes you feel wonderful and like new. Luden's for example taste like candy, mom never had to press me to take one but I would keep on coughing like there was no tomorrow, so that called for more Ludens (what a rough life being sick and taking candy for it). Then there is Theraflu, I am not talking the pill kid that takes a hour to start working, I am talking the powder packets that you put in some hot water and gag as you try to swallow, that would make me feel tons better real fast although the supposed non-drowsy would knock me off my feet. Anyways my throat is feeling scratchy and mid whine, one of my faculty offered a Cepacol sore throat lozenge. She warned me it did not taste very good but they work small miracles. Let me say thank you to Mr. Cepacol. THat horrible tasting thing went in my mouth and within a minute my tongue was gettign numb so I did not taste the nastyness anymore and then it worked its way down and numbed my throat. It was wonderful. You learn new things every day.
